Mitsubishi Engineering-Plastics (MEP) has established an action program for safety and environmental protection and is implementing Responsible Care (RC) activities to protect the health and safety of people and care for the environment.

MEP has always endeavored to preserve the environment, ensure chemical safety and safe working conditions, and prevent disasters through its Responsible Care activities. In line with its Declaration of Responsible Care, the Company will continue to promote a broad range of Responsible Care activities.

MEP implements Responsible Care as an inherent part of its daily business activities. As an engineering plastics manufacturer, MEP strives to realize sustainable development by protecting the health and safety of people and preserving the environment.


<Principle of MEP's RC Activities>

MEP believes every company has a responsibility to protect the safety of people and preserve the environment. To fulfill this responsibility and provide products and services acceptable to society, MEP implements RC activities in all aspects of its daily business activities, including R&D, production, logistics, technical support and sales. This principle encompasses the following fundamental elements:

  • MEP promotes the reduction of environmental burden at every stage of its products' life cycles.
  • MEP carries out environmental assessment in advance to maintain safety and protect the environment at the R&D stage.
  • MEP establishes standards for its products and materials, including neat resins, additives, colorings and fillers, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and product standards, and complies with these standards.
  • MEP conserves resources and energy.
  • MEP pledges that all its employees will care for health and safety and strive to avoid accidents and disasters through individual RC activities.
  • MEP seeks understanding of its RC principle and cooperation in the implementation of its RC activities from all group companies.
  • MEP has set up an internal inspection system to promote and monitor RC activities, thereby ensuring ongoing improvement.
  • MEP provides the public with product information pertinent to environment and safety concerns at its Web site and responds to individual questions.
