Injection Molding

Pre-drying
When using a hot-air circulation oven, a pellet pile thickness of 30mm or less requires 110 - 120°C for 4 - 8 hours.
Molding temperature
A resin temperature of 280 - 290°C is optimal. With regard to the cylinder temperature, set the nozzle temperature and the front of the cylinder to 270 - 280°C and the middle and rear of the cylinder to 260 - 270°C.
Mold temperature
Set to 60 - 90°C.
Injection pressure (primary pressure) and holding pressure (secondary pressure)
Injection pressure should be 100 - 150 MPa and adjusted to a pressure at which injection speed can be achieved.
Switching to holding pressure when the cavity is 80 - 90% filled will produce a good molded article with low residual stress.
The appropriate holding pressure should be 50 - 70% of the injection pressure.
Injection speed
When using hot runner systems, extension nozzles, and so on, lower the injection speed to avoid gas entrapment until the mold is slightly filled with resin.
Note that in molds with poor gas venting, burns will occur if the injection speed is too high.
Screw rotation speed and back pressure
The screw speed should be set to 50 - 100 rpm.
The screw back pressure should be adjusted within the range of 1 - 3% of the injection pressure.
